Weekly Update from your local Bablake NPT
Dear Members
Here’s your weekly update from myself and the rest of the team.
What’s Been Happening The start of this set, a visit for a safe and well at an address turned into a male at the property being wanted, then whilst carrying out enquiries next door, another person inside that address was also wanted. Two in custody!
The Great Escape On Friday, officers from response attended to escaped goats (no kidding!). One goat was found to be stuck in fencing. Officers freed ‘Billy’ and him, and his friends were ushered back to where they had come from. The owner was also informed of their adventures and given advice.
Vehicle Crime The team have been carrying out enquiries in relation to vehicle crime. A member of the public reported suspicious activity around a vehicle. Officers went and stopped two persons nearby who were searched. Nothing was found on this occasion. We always appreciate calls of any suspicious activity and will gladly check it out.
Robbery Arrests Concerned passersby phoned police after witnessing what appeared to be a robbery in Smethwick. Three males have called a female over to their vehicle and attempted to take jewellery from her wrist. Thankfully nothing was stolen and the suspects made off. The eagle-eyed passersby had taken a note of the suspect’s registration. Officers spotted the vehicle later in Coventry and pulled it up on RYE HILL. Three males were arrested for attempted robbery and the vehicle seized.
Construction Sites We have received reports of suspicious behaviour on construction sites, particularly around dumper trucks. Machinery is often stolen to support illegal dumping operations and organised crime. The team have been active around construction sites to deter crime and anti-social behaviour. If you live by a site, please report anything suspicious such as unmarked vans, low loaders or plant machinery out at unusual hours.
Community Speed Watch Over the upcoming weeks we will be carrying out Community Speed Watches with local Councillors. If you are interested in participating, please email the team and we will be in touch.
Crime figures Over the past nine days, there have been two vehicles stolen from WALLACE ROAD and KERESLEY GREEN ROAD. An attempted residential burglary has been reported on DUKE OF EDINBURGH AVENUE.
